A window onto the Hill Country
The problem: an hour staring at a ceiling tile.
Every treatment room has large back windows facing the Texas landscape, so while the work gets done you look out at the Hill Country, not a wall.

Some of the patients we welcomed in 1965 still come to us. Today Dr. Cole Simpson and Dr. Gregg Vesta look after them on I-10 West, with a Hill Country view from every treatment chair.
years caring for Boerne, and some of the same patients the whole way.

Our story, since 1965
The faces have changed over sixty years. Honesty, integrity and outstanding quality have not changed at all.

What sets us apart
A visit here should not feel like a chore to dread. Three things about this office make sure it does not.

The problem: an hour staring at a ceiling tile.
Every treatment room has large back windows facing the Texas landscape, so while the work gets done you look out at the Hill Country, not a wall.

The problem: three children, two parents, four dental offices.
We see patients from age two to seniors, and have treated several generations of the same family. With several hygienists, a whole family can have their cleanings at the same time.

The problem: putting off care for years out of fear.
Blankets, pillows and music are yours for the asking. Nitrous oxide takes the edge off and wears off in minutes; oral conscious sedation lets you arrive already relaxed. Both are available for every procedure.

Meet your dentists
Dr. Simpson chose dentistry after shadowing dentists right here in Boerne. Dr. Vesta chose it after a dentist rebuilt his own broken front teeth. Between them they cover everything from a child’s first cleaning to smile-rebuilding implants.

Born and raised in Boerne and a graduate of Champion High School. He shadowed dentists here as a student, then came back to practice at the same location. Advanced implant training at the Wehrle Implant Institute; member of the ADA and the Texas Dental Association.
He met his wife, Tanner, at Texas A&M; they married in 2017. Mountain biking, Aggie football, barbecue and trips down to Port Aransas.
Texas A&M · DDS, UT Health San Antonio

He broke his front teeth at ten, and a dentist rebuilt them with root canal therapy and crowns. He worked as a dental assistant through college, and has served on mission trips close to home, in Mexico and in the Dominican Republic. Member of the ADA, TDA and Academy of General Dentistry.
He has visited over half of America’s national parks. Biking, hiking, rock climbing, photography, and Lincoln, the golden retriever.
BS Biology, UT Arlington · DDS, UT San Antonio
Sixty years, one practice
We have treated several generations of the same families. Here is who has looked after them.
Some of the patients welcomed that first year still come to us today.
He works alongside Dr. Hestilow for a decade, the start of a 36-year run.
Dr. Hestilow retires and Dr. Luttrell comes in beside Dr. Gomillion.
Cole Simpson watches the procedures, and the long relationships with patients.
In July, back at the same location where it all started for him.
Dr. Gomillion and Dr. Luttrell have retired; the practice carries on at the same location.
Meet your dental team
The front office, the hygienists and the assistants: the people who answer the phone, clean your teeth and get to know your family. A well-trained, highly capable and caring team that keeps learning the latest dental procedures.

Dentistry in Boerne, TX
Instead of driving everyone to a different office, bring them here: preventive, restorative, implant and cosmetic dentistry in one convenient place.
Checkups and cleanings twice a year, for children from age two to seniors. Several hygienists means a whole family can be cleaned at the same time.
A cracked, decayed or broken tooth, put back the same day wherever CEREC allows it, and saved rather than removed wherever that is still possible.
Implants are placed and restored here, in one location, rather than sent to a specialist for half the job. Planned on our own CBCT scanner.
Chips, stains, gaps and crowding. Bonding for a quick, conservative fix, veneers for a bigger change, and clear aligners instead of metal braces.
A series of custom clear aligners, each worn for one to two weeks. Mild to moderate crowding, gaps and bite problems, often in 12 to 18 months.
A full denture anchored on an average of four to six implants, so it stops slipping, and the whole treatment happens under one roof.
Jaw pain, headaches and night-time grinding. Diagnosed with x-rays, then eased with a custom splint you wear only to bed.
A custom-made oral appliance as a CPAP alternative, once you have an official diagnosis. It can stop even severe snoring.
Advanced dental technology
A lot has changed since 1965. We are one of the few offices in the area with CEREC, so a damaged tooth that would normally mean at least two appointments is repaired in one.

Your first visit
When you call, we take your insurance details and usually book a checkup and cleaning. Fill in the new patient forms before you arrive and we can start on time.

Dental emergencies
Call (830) 249-2045 rather than waiting. Same-day emergency appointments are available, and sedation is there if you need it.
Call (830) 249-2045Insurance & payment
We actively look for ways to save you money: we file your claims, help you make the most of your benefits, and have a plan of our own if you have no insurance at all.
Bring your insurance card and we will file the claim. Not in network with any HMO or DMO plan. If we are out of network with yours, we still file it and help you get the most reimbursement possible.
No insurance? For a reasonable annual fee you get the preventive care you need plus a significant discount on other services. No annual maximum, claims, deductibles or monthly premiums.
Low-interest financing that breaks a larger treatment plan into smaller monthly payments. We can help you through the application.
For new patients without dental insurance, with a new patient cleaning and exam. Mention the offer when you book.

Our in-house savings plan: one reasonable annual fee covers the preventive care you need, with a significant discount on other treatment, and no annual maximum, deductible, claims or monthly premium. CareCredit can spread larger treatment into monthly payments, and new patients without insurance get their full-mouth x-rays free with a new patient cleaning and exam.
Tell us when you call. There are blankets, pillows and music, and two levels of sedation. Nitrous oxide wears off almost as soon as the mask comes off. Oral conscious sedation is a medication taken at home before the visit, so you arrive relaxed; someone will need to drive you.
Call us as soon as you can. We will talk you through first aid over the phone and do everything we can to see you the same day, relieve the pain first, then go through the options with you.
Usually, yes. With CEREC the tooth is scanned, the crown is designed on screen and milled from a block of ceramic here in about 20 minutes, then fitted. The whole appointment takes about two hours, and there is no second visit.
Yes. Implants are placed and restored in one location. Dr. Simpson completed advanced implant training at the Wehrle Implant Institute, and our CBCT scanner plans each one in 3D. We also offer mini implants, often used to secure a lower denture.
From about age two, children can come along to a parent’s cleaning for a “happy visit”. After that, checkups twice a year, with sealants on the back teeth, and sedation in select cases.
32350 I-10 West, on the I-10 frontage road on the south side of Boerne, just west of Cascade Caverns and down the street from Wheeler’s Feed & Outfitters. We also see patients from San Antonio, Bandera, Comfort, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and New Braunfels, some of whom have come for decades.
